Selected as All-District (B-5) Lineman ( 1966 )

Accepted football scholarship to East Central Oklahoma State in Ada ( 1967 )

After one year at Ada, Rick transferred to Palo Verdi Junior College in Blythe, CA to play football for former Purcell Head Football Coach, Kenneth Krall

2 way starter on the Offensive and Defensive Lines for Palo Verdi JUCO. Was elected Team Captain during his Sophomore season

Also lettered in Track and Swimming while attending Palo Verdi JUCO

After Rick's eligibility was up, he was recruited by many West Coast schools to play football. He was also recruited by many schools in the Midwest, such as Baylor and Tulsa. After much deliberation, Rick decided to come home and become a Golden Hurricane

A 2 year letterman on the Offensive Line for Tulsa. Rick was also a dorm suite-mate of former Tulsa Quarterback and Dallas Cowboy star Wide Receiver Drew Pearson

Rick received the prestigious "Oil Can Award" from the Tulsa Football Team and Coaches after his Senior year concluded. The honor is awarded annually to the Tulsa Football player who brings the most humor to the game of football

Today, Rick is still an active member of the TU Letterman's Club

Named as a Offensive Lineman on the 1960's PHS All-Decade Football Team by Purcell Football Alumni

Named as a Offensive Lineman on the All-Century (1900 -1999) PHS Football Team by Purcell Football Alumni

Recognized by his friends and teammates as the single hardest working Dragon Football player ever, who was rewarded for his efforts with a NCAA Division 1 scholarship
