Joined the Armed Forces after High School graduation to serve his country during WWII.

After the war ended, Leonard attended the University of Oklahoma on a wrestling scholarship.

After graduation from OU, Leonard served as a Teacher / Coach at OKC Northwest Classen High School for many years where he taught French and coached Wrestling and Cross-Country

Remembered as a wonderful individual, and an outstanding athlete and coach by his many friends, players, students, and colleagues
