The first Oklahoma High School athlete in history to win the 100 yard dash, the 220 yard dash, and the 440 yard dash at a State Track Meet in two consecutive years (1952 & 1953)

Held the PHS school record of ( 9.9 ) in the 100 yard dash from 1952 until 1970 when the mark was eclipsed by Tommy Smith Jr. ( 9.8 ) in 1970

Held the PHS school record of ( 21.8 ) individually in the 220 yard dash from 1952 until 1976 when the mark was tied by Chris Willis. This PHS 220 yard record upheld until 2010 when it was broken by Cole Swayze ( 21.6 / 200m )

Accepted scholarship to play football at Oklahoma State University (1953)

Suffered a knee injury during his Freshman year at OSU playing football which enticed him to accept a full track scholarship at OSU instead

Letterman OSU Track and Field Team (1954 - 1956) as he ran the 100 yard dash, the 220 yard dash, the 440 Yard Relay, and the Mile Relay for legendary OSU Hall of Fame Track Coach Ralph Higgins

Inducted into the Oklahoma State University Athletic Hall of Fame

After graduation, Jack became a very successful Teacher and Coach at Tishomingo, Konawa, Idabel, and Pauls Valley

During his career, Jack coached track for 22 years, football for 9 years, girls' basketball for 7 years, boys' basketball for 7 years, and baseball for 2 years

In one year at Konawa, Jack actually coached 7 different sports throughout the school year

Jack's track teams won conference championships in 21 of the 22 years that he coached track

Jack's 1960 Tishomingo Track Team was crowned Class B State Champions in his first year of coaching at Tishomingo

His 1973 Pauls Valley Team captured the Class 2A State Track Title. The Panthers also finished as the Class 2A State Runner-Up in Track in 1979

Jack was the Head Football Coach at Pauls Valley in 1973 when they finished the season as Class 2A State-Finalists, which is still the most successful football season in Pauls Valley history since the start of the Oklahoma High School Football Playoffs back in 1944

Jack was named "Oklahoma High School Track Coach of the Year" several times during his career

In 1976, Jack was selected as the National High School Athletic Coaches Association Region 5 Track Coach of the Year. Region 5 consists of Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas

Inducted into the Oklahoma Coaches Association Hall of Fame

Named as a Running Back on the 1950's PHS All-Decade Football Team by Purcell Football Alumni

Named as a Running Back on the All-Century (1900 -1999) PHS Football Team by Purcell Football Alumni
